Today I'm attending to God's invitation to rest. I'm grateful for time to reflect and pray and be silent for a while. I'm reminded of Scripture's invitation to enter into God's abundance. Resisting the lie that we are what we produce or what we accomplish requires intentionality. Here are a few of Scripture's invitations to rest.
Isaiah 55:1 “Come, all you who are thirsty,
come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk
without money and without cost.
Matthew 11:28-30 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
John 15:9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love."
May we rest in God's love, grace and abundance today.
